Old original Wakefield Castrol Motoroil single-sided enamel sign with some rust and scratches. Some shine on patina but still a very good early sign.
The Wakefield Motor oil "Castrol" brand was first registered by Charles Wakefield in 1909 in London. In 1960 saw the name of Wakefield Castrol Motor Oil change to the "Castrol Ltd" brand and in 1966 Castrol Ltd was purchased by the Burmah Oil Company.
