British Railway Southern Region original Elmstead Woods totem enamel sign.
Elmstead Woods British Railway Sign
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION & HISTORY
Elmstead Woods was originally opened as Elmstead on 1st July 1904 and is situated on the South Eastern main line in the Southern Region. It is in the London Borough of Bromley in South East London and is 16.5klms from the main London terminus of Charing Cross. This sign has a good gloss and shine –it does have some minor steaking to it and a couple small touch ups as seen in the photo. I have seen several of these signs – I have another in my personal collection and it also has a few minor streaks - whether the station staff used certain cleaning materials which affected it is unknown. It still presents well and display’s nicely.
