Siddons Box Irons Pictorial Early 20th Century Enamel Sign

A great early example of an enamel pictorial sign advertising the business of Box Irons. This sign really stands out well not only in its patina, but also for its historical advertising significance. J & J Siddons commenced around the 1870's. This antique domestic tool the Box Iron, was employed most likely in a wealthy household during the Victorian period. The company who produced this in the industrial heartland of Birmingham started business in the 1870's and are still thriving today.
