"Sparva" Original Showcard
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION & HISTORY
Here we have a wonderful original "Sparva" Showcard in excellent condition. This showcard can be framed to protect it or stand as is, as has backing to hold it up. The back of the showcard has the original instructions typewritten to show how to fix the skirt to the showcard. There are a few small pin holes to the showcard, slight edge lift and abit of fade on back. Would look amazing in a white glass frame adorned in a shop.
"Sparva" was a type of fabric developed and sold around Manchester in the UK in the early 1940's with advertising slogans such as "use Sparva fabrics makes clothes last twice as long". "Sparva" was manufactured by Sparrow, Hardwick and Co which was a large textile manufacturer until the mid 1970's. A wonderful collectable for a dressmaker, sewing shop, textile business, craft person or vintage shop.
